How to Keep Your Valuables Safe at School
Here are some tips on how to keep your valuables safe. 1. Do not bring valuable items such as IPods, PSP’s, cellphones, large amounts of cash, or expensive jewelry to school. 2. Lock all valuables in your hall locker when you arrive on campus and leave them there until school is dismissed. 3. Make sure that lockers are kept properly locked and combinations to your lockers are not shared with anyone. 4. Write down the model, description, and serial numbers of all items and keep that information in a separate place from your items. 5. Do not tell or show anyone what valuable items you have, even your friends. 6. If items are in your backpack, keep the back pack with you at all times or lock it in your locker. 7. Purchase a backpack that can be locked and keep it locked. 8. If an item is missing immediately check the area where it was last seen to see if it got misplaced or left behind. 9. If an item is lost or stolen, immediately write down exactly when and where you last saw the item, and any other circustances related to its disappearance, and when you discovered the item missing. Report this information as soon as possible. 10. Check the lost and found in the Attendance Office. Many items are brought there. Check back frequently over several days as it may take time before someone finds it and brings it in. Unfortunately, many items that are lost or stolen are never recovered. Following these tips will improve the chances of your items staying with you, but are no guarantee. |
